Join the Adult Faith Formation book discussion group as we explore Short Stories by Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine, Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University, as it challenges us to see the parables as Jesus’ first century audience would have understood them.
The Mass of the Lord’s Supper, which follows the "Bring and Share" feast, calls our attention to the night before Jesus died. Jesus’ mandate, "As I have done, so you also must do," is acknowledged with the act of humble service represented by the washing of feet.
The principal liturgy is the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion. Parishioners are invited to take a turn carrying the cross if they are physically able and all are welcome to honor the cross with a touch of the hand or kneeling before it.
Mass begins at 8pm with the blessing of the new fire and the Paschal candle in front of the church, and will include the full initiation of two adults and an additional Confirmation during this sacred Mass.
