Small daily changes in our diets and grocery shopping can mitigate climate change:
Begin to grow some of your own food. Get advice from a friend who gardens.
Reduce the fossil fuel needed to transport food over long distances by buying from local farmers.
Plan menus so food won’t be wasted. In landfills it produces methane, a powerful climate-changing gas.
Compost your garden and food waste. It’s easy and doesn’t produce methane.
Raising large food animals requires lots of resources. Eat one meatless meal each week, such as ready-to-cook veggie meatballs and burgers, beans, lentils, eggs and tofu.
