There will be two opportunities to hear from Michael J. O'Loughlin, a journalist, author, speaker and commentator who has been working in the Catholic sphere for decades.
On Thursday, June 13, he will speak at the Cathedral in Albany about his most recent book, "Hidden Mercy: Catholics, AIDS, and Untold Stories of Compassion in the Face of Fear," in which he sought out the untold stories of those who didn't look away, who at great personal cost chose compassion—even as he seeks insight for LGBTQ people of faith struggling to find a home in religious communities today.
Michael J. O’Loughlin is the executive director of Outreach, an LGBTQ Catholic ministry, and the author of “Hidden Mercy: Catholics, AIDS, and Untold Stories of Compassion in the Face of Fear,” which is based on the podcast series, “Plague: Untold Stories of AIDS and the Catholic Church.” He is also the author of "The Tweetable Pope: A Spiritual Revolution in 140 Characters."
