Because of scheduling conflicts, our efforts to write letters to advocate with representatives in Washington, D.C. and Albany will be divided into two parts: 1. Beginning on April 28th, we will be sending emails to advocate for the passage of the NY Heat Act which will reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills. Sample letters and email addresses will be sent out electronically. Hard copies of this information can be picked up after Mass beginning the weekend of April 26 & 27. 2. On the weekend of May 31st and June 1st, we will be urging our federal lawmakers to support full funding of WIC, which provides nutrition for pregnant women and their infants and toddlers, and to support increases for global nutrition programs for families to prevent malnutrition and hunger. Paper, pens, sample letters, envelopers and information about online advocacy will be provided. For more information, contact Dave Rowell at [email protected].
