Come join in a cleanup of a section of the Hudson River bank on Sat., May 4, from 10am-2pm as part of the Riverkeeper Sweep, during which thousands of volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley for a day of service to our earth. The group will meet at the Corning Preserve Launch Area. Co-sponsored by the Capital Region Interfaith Creation Care Coalition (CRICCC).
RiverSweep, organized by RiverKeeper, is the annual day of service for the Hudson River. It is a day of Volunteer- led clean-ups, tree plantings and other service projects throughout the Hudson River Watershed, from NYC to Capital Region and beyond.
CRICCC (Capital Region Interfaith Creation Care Coalition) will be doing a CLEAN UP at Corning Preserve Riverfront Park which will include Jennings Landing, the Bike Path/Walking Path, Boat Ramp, etc.
Attendees are asked to register online; day-of registration is also available.
No matter when you register, you need to check in the day of May 4th at a Registration table near the children’s play area at the Corning Preserve (1 Quay Avenue) so we can give instructions, give out tools, collection buckets, etc. Volunteers will be collecting litter throughout the park. Volunteers will bring their collected materials back to the drop off sites where the litter will be sorted.
Old clothes (dress for weather), water, gloves and a lunch are recommended. Any questions, please contact Mary Cosgrove ([email protected]) Subject heading - RiverSweep.
It is recommended that children be 10 or above and should be accompanied by an adult.
